Casa Pîrja/ Breb

 Location

Casa Pîrja is located in the village of Breb, at the foot of the Gutȃi Mountains, 21 km from Cavnic and 26 km from Sighetu Marmatiei.

Facilities

Casa Pîrja is a traditional log house built almost a century ago. It preserves, unchanged, the traditional architecture of Maramureș, the only renovations made are small ones. All the elements of the past have been preserved: stone foundation, wooden structure and roof and drainage. The heirs highlight all that is most beautiful about this ancient architectural jewel, giving back its charm down to the smallest detail introducing it in the tourist circuit of the area. Our guests can benefit of dishes from traditional products specific to the area, and on request we can offer authentic traditional music, cart rides on the winding mountain roads, hiking in a picturesque land or participating in traditional household activities.

Rooms

The house has five accommodation units with fir wood heating in a traditional stove, alternating with electric heating. Although the decor is archaic, there is no lack of utilities when it comes to the comfort of modern times. The bathroom can compete with the most titled  guesthouses, both in terms of utilities but especially in terms of architecture.
